The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School UTHealth has a vivaCT 40 machine that can be utilized by members of the Bone Disease Program of Texas for research purposes.  This in vivo cone-beam microCT has a 5 – 76 µm nominal isotropic pixel size. It can be used to image specimens up to 80mm in diameter and 500mm in length.  An animal anesthesia machine is available in the lab to support in vivo studies (investigators must provide IACUC approval letters prior to project initiation).

To schedule time on the machine, please contact Dr. Catherine Ambrose (Catherine.G.Ambrose@uth.tmc.edu).  For training on how to use the machine for scanning or analysis, please contact Dr. Francoise Coustry (Francoise.Coustry@uth.tmc.edu).
