{"id":202,"date":"2019-04-01T02:58:54","date_gmt":"2019-04-01T02:58:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/mysite\/?page_id=199"},"modified":"2025-07-31T07:52:58","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T12:52:58","slug":"bone-club","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/txbonediseaseprogram.org\/index.php\/bone-club\/","title":{"rendered":"Bone Club"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">The <strong>Bone Club<\/strong> is an informal group of researchers and clinicians that meets to discuss topics in skeletal biology every other month over dinner.&nbsp;<strong>Meetings are by invitation only<\/strong>&nbsp;to the core members of the Bone Disease Program of Texas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>The objectives for the Bone Research Club are to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Encourage scientific interactions among clinicians and basic scientists of the BDPT<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Showcase local scientific and technical expertise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide a forum to discuss new research directions, controversial clinical and scientific topics in the field, as well as potential grant applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inform and coordinate the implementation of new initiatives <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foster the scientific and social development of junior researchers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Do I Become A <strong>Bone Club Member<\/strong>?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>All inquiries regarding membership to the bone club should be directed to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:blee@bcm.edu\">Dr. Brendan Lee<\/a>. Inquiries about speakers should be directed to <a href=\"ccherry@bcm.edu\">Charlotte Cherry<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The next Bone Club is on <\/strong>09\/16\/25 (speaker TBD).<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Location: 6550 Bertner, Houston, Texas 77030 (top floor (6<sup>th<\/sup>) of the John P.
